RE:

2016 Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) Bylaw 4017 Public Hearing

At its July 13, 2016 meeting, the Capital Regional District (CRD) Board gave first and second reading to Bylaw No. 4017 “Capital Regional District Regional Growth Strategy Bylaw No. 1, 2016”. This letter is to invite municipal councils and the Juan de Fuca (JdF) Land Use Committee (LUC) to participate in the public hearing for RGS Bylaw No. 4017.

Date
Wednesday, October 19, 2016

Location
CRD Headquarters

625 Fisgard Street, Victoria, BC

Time
3 – 6 pm: open house in the CRD storefront on Centennial Square
6 pm: public hearing in the CRD Board Room

Along with stakeholders and members of the public, municipal councils and the JdF LUC are welcome to provide comments at the public hearing or submit comments to the CRD in writing by October 19, 2016. A written summary of input will be prepared and made available to Board members following the public hearing.

The Board may direct changes to the RGS bylaw following receipt of input. Following Board review, the RGS bylaw will be referred to municipal councils for acceptance. The anticipated referral timing is early 2017 and is the last step before bylaw adoption.

An electronic version of the 2016 RGS bylaw is attached. A copy of the document will be sent to your municipality for reference.

Please contact Signe Bagh, Senior Manager, Regional and Strategic Planning at sbagh@crd.bc.ca or 250-360-3244 should you have any questions.

On behalf of the Board, we look forward to your continued participation in this project.

Yours truly,

Barbara Desjardins
Chair, Capital Regional District Board
