Letter

As Langford residents for over 18 years and property owners at 936 Klahanie drive for 7 years we are writing you to express our support for the development proposed at 898 & 914 Klahanie Drive.

This development would fit extremely well with the neighborhood, offering a modern mixed-used of townhouse with unique design, architectural features and well though out integration of dedicated green space and large treed buffer to adjacent land owners.

We are young parents ourselves, this very new elementary school. We welcome a higher density project such as this one that will allow younger families to move in, be able to walk their kids to school, go for a stroll around the Willing Park and enjoy the convenience of all the wonderful amenities within walking distance that City of Langford has to offer.

Historically on this street most development was for large lots, single-family houses, although the OCP supports higher density. We know firsthand having family members looking to move in the area that single family prices are not attainable for young families starting out and welcome such townhome site development that will likely introduce a lower price point affordability for younger families. Looking on a map around our street we are surrounded by development of only single-family houses, it only makes sense that with the new ELEMENTARY school, we diversify and allow the younger family to access a lower market price point housing within walking distance from the new school.

We hope that this letter conveys to you our support of this project and our wishes to see it complete. We urge you Mayor Goodmanson and Councillors to vote in the favour of approving this development proposed at 898 & 914 Klahanie Drive.
