Hello!
This email is my opposition to the rezoning of the property on 616 Goldstream Ave. to allow for 160 units from 4-6 stories. Two stories is more than enough.
Far too much construction in the Westshore area taking out several hundred year old fir trees. And the increased traffic & construction noise. Traffic on Goldstream is bumper to bumper or high speeding when traffic is light. I never see WS RCMP stopping these offending speeders or loud mufflers.
With the construction of the condo which has been ongoing for the past year now on the corner of Goldstream & Grainger, the workers, cranes & delivery trucks are all parking on the roadway & “permit parking only” spots. All morning long there has been a green pickup parked 4-5’ away from the fire hydrant on Grainger. Very seldom do I see any traffic safety people on Grainger when the concrete or dump trucks are stopped & maneuvering backwards onto the site. Just now there was a Gray Line dump truck unloading & blocking two lanes with no traffic people stopping cars from coming down Grainger. Residents & the school at the end of Grainger, simply an accident waiting to happen. They are also tying up the parking spaces at St Anthony’s & two hour parking on Grainger. Where is the parking for 39 units in that building?
I know that Langford has increased their population in the last few years, but this condo construction boom has to stop until other options have been looked.
