Commentary

The Canada Cup Race Series is requesting permission to stage a portion of the mountain bike race along Bear Mountain Parkway from Hannington Road to the end of Country Club Way (see attached map) on Saturday, March 5th, 2016, 8:30am to 4:30pm. Cyclists will ride along the sidewalk between Hannington Road and Hedgestone Lane which will allow two way traffic to be maintained. Sidewalk closed signage will be put up prior to the event to notify residents. North of Hedgestone Lane where the sidewalk ends cyclists will be required to ride along the road on Bear Mountain Parkway as well as a portion of Country Club Way. Event organizers will be providing the City with a formal traffic management plan by February 19, 2016. Also, organizers will be working with private property owners to alter and create a route that requires the least amount of interruptions to vehicle traffic on public roads.
