Flag protocol policy

The proposed policy would replace Langford’s narrow rules for lowering flags with broader guidance on half-masting, flag raising, guest flags and flag care. Staff say the update would align city practices with federal and provincial guidance and recognize a wider range of community events and losses.

Where it stands: Committee recommended replacing the policy Feb 26, 2025; a Council decision is not shown.
