Dear Committee Members,

I am writing in support of Langford Tennis Club's proposal asking for new courts, ideally with washrooms, in the District.

It is unfortunate that the Club is losing the courts they have had Royal Roads to development. It is crucial that they find a new home in the West Shore as the Club’s activities benefit not just residents in the West Shore but also the Greater Victoria area: organized tournaments, excellent Junior Development Program and group play for people of all ages and (dis)abilities.

West Shore has lost most of its courts over the years to development, yet it is the fastest growing area on lower Vancouver Island. Now is the time to construct new courts in the area and, coincidental to the Club celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025, Langford would be ideal.

Thank you for your consideration.

Yours sincerely,

D. Brooke Phemister
