Community Advisory Committee
Dear Committee Members,
We are writing in support of Langford Tennis Club's proposal requesting the establishment of new courts in the District together with washrooms.
It is a most unfortunate development that the Club has to leave its long standing Royal Roads location and crucial that they find a new home in the West Shore as soon as possible.
Their activities benefit not just residents in the West Shore but also the Greater Victoria area - highlighted by organized tournaments, an excellent Junior Development Program and group play for people of all ages and (dis)abilities.
We note that the West Shore has lost most of its courts over the years to development and is now the fastest growing area on lower Vancouver Island.
It is a critical time to construct new tennis courts in the Langford municipality, especially as the Club will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2025.
Thank you for considering this request.
Yours sincerely,
Mike Thpompson
Vice President, Peninsula Tennis Club
