### Subject
Klahanie Drive Townhome Proposal

### Message
Hello,

I am writing in support of the proposed 898/914 Klahanie Drive townhouse development by Formwell Homes. I am happy to see a well-thought-out development come to our community, and I believe it will bring many benefits to the neighbourhood.

The commitment to sustainable construction on this project is commendable. Features like solar and EV readiness, Step-code 3 minimums, and fossil fuel-free heating and cooking options are great to see. The 10:1 tree replacement and the contribution of 1.14 acres of green space and 0.6 acres of parkland show a dedication to preserving and enhancing the area’s natural beauty.

The fact that these townhomes will provide 3- and 4-bedroom options is ideal as many new units that I have seen developed have very few, if any, 3-bedroom options. With growing family sizes, the size of these homes will provide diversity to the housing available in our area. The location is near the future elementary school being built and would provide a natural extension of housing that will make it easier for families with children to find a suitable home.

Finally, I appreciate the balanced density of the development and the beautiful design. The fact that it will have less density than the Official Community Plan shows a consideration for the community and a desire to maintain its character.

On a personal note, I moved to Langford over 13 years ago and was hesitant to do so given the reputation Langford had. Since I have lived out here, I have watched this community grow into a place that I am proud to call home and a place that I don't want to leave. However with housing options being limited, staying may not be easy for families when growing families require space that isn't necessarily available in recently completed developments. These proposed townhomes, I believe, will check many boxes that families have. 3+ bedrooms, green space, close to school, long-term cost savings and the beautiful design that provides the modernization that people want and expect without compromising on a beautiful exterior aesthetic.

I wholeheartedly support this rezoning application and believe it will be a great benefit to Langford.
