### Re
Become a partner host of the AVICC Convention in 2024

### Letter
Dear Mayor Goodmanson,

On behalf of Victoria City Council, I am writing to request a contribution from your municipality of up to
$500 to support the cost for services and become a partner host for the Association of Vancouver Island
and Coastal Communities (AVICC) AGM and Convention in 2024, taking place in Victoria. In addition,
I’d like to extend an invitation for our regional partners to provide study tour and workshops ideas that
showcase new infrastructure, programs, and innovation within their municipalities.

The AVICC is the longest established area association under the umbrella of the Union of BC
Municipalities (UBCM). The Association deals with issues and concerns that affect all communities in its
jurisdiction from larger urban areas to small rural communities. AVICC has a membership of 51
municipalities and regional districts.

Hosting the annual AGM and convention will provide an opportunity to showcase our region to various
other local governments on Vancouver Island.

Due to the continued growth of the AGM and Convention, AVICC is requesting that Victoria host every
two years going forward. With that in mind, we are proposing a regionally supported AGM and Convention
and reaching out to our regional counterparts within Greater Victoria to request financial support and
partnership for 2024.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to the prospect of collaborating with you on this
exciting project.

### Closing
Sincerely,

Marianne Alto
Victoria Mayor
