The City of Langford has adopted the Bear Mountain Parkway Extension Local Area Service Establishment Bylaw No. 1630, 2016 B. The City wishes to adopt this bylaw to impose parcel taxes to provide a portion of the funding for the service established by the Bear Mountain Parkway Extension Local Area Service Establishment Bylaw No. 1630, 2016 NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the City of Langford, in open meeting assembled, hereby enacts as follows: ### Citation 1. This bylaw may be cited as Bear Mountain Parkway Extension Cost Recovery Bylaw No. 1845, 2019. ### Definitions 2. In this bylaw, (a) “Local Service Area” means the local service area established by Bear Mountain Parkway Extension Local Area Service Establishment Bylaw No. 1630, 2016, and (b) “Taxable Area” means the taxable area of the parcels in the Local Service Area as set out in the 2019 Parcel Tax Roll. ### Service For Which Parcel Taxes Imposed 3. The parcel taxes imposed under this bylaw are imposed for the service established by Bear Mountain Parkway Extension Local Area Service Establishment Bylaw No. 1630, 2016. ### Years For Which Parcel Taxes Imposed 4. The parcel taxes imposed under this bylaw are imposed for the years 2019 through 2033. ### Bear Mountain Parkway Extension Local Service Area Assessment Roll 5. The Director of Finance for the City of Langford is directed to prepare an assessment roll for the purposes of imposing the parcel tax levied under this Bylaw. 6. The parcel taxes imposed under this bylaw are imposed on the basis of the Taxable Area of the parcels in the Local Service Area. ### Imposition of Parcel Taxes 7. A parcel tax is hereby imposed on the Taxable Area of the lands in the Local Service Area at the rate of $0.334 per square metre.
