## Staff Report to Council

Date: February 4, 2019
Department: Administration
Subject: Committee Appointments

### Background
There are several vacancies to be filled on Council committees. Committee members are appointed for the same term as Council members. Following the October 2018 election, some Committee members declined to be reappointed, and Committee chairs indicated whether they wanted new members. Per Council policy POL-0019-ADMIN, Advertising for Citizen Vacancies, staff placed advertisements in the Goldstream Gazette for two consecutive weeks, seeking applications for membership.

The Chair for Transportation and Public Works Committee has selected two new committee members from the applications received; and the Chair for Planning, Zoning and Affordable Housing Committee has selected one new committee member from the applications received.

### Commentary
Staff have contacted the selected committee members to confirm that they are able to commit to the meeting schedule, and will accept an appointment if it is made.

### Financial Implications
None. Committee members are residents who volunteer, and they do not receive remuneration.
Supporting committee administration is part of core duties for staff.

### Legal Implications
None.

### Options
