Approving Officer Appointments

Background and Commentary

The Land Title Act requires each municipality to appoint an Approving Officer to apply provincial statutes, regulations and local bylaws to independently make decisions regarding the approval of subdivisions.
Currently in Langford, Land Development & Subdivision Coordinator Brent Molnar is the Approving Officer, while Land Development Technicians’ Daryl Minifie, James Oliver and Robert Dykstra act as Deputy Approving Officers. Due to the resignation of Mr. Molnar, appointment of a new Approving Officer is required.

Options

Option 1:
That Deputy Director of Planning Leah Stohmann be appointed as Approving Officer effective March 20th, 2017, and that Land Development Technicians’ Daryl Minifie, James Oliver and Robert Dykstra remain as Deputy Approving Officers.

Option 2:
Do not change the Approving Officer appointments at this time.
