Letter to Residents Re 2019 Mandatory Sewer Hook-up

### Background

## Background

In order to give residents a heads up regarding their requirement for mandatory hook up of sewers by December 31st, 2019, a notice was placed in the 4 page handout included with all 2016 tax notices.

Over the past couple of months the City has received numerous inquiries about the mandatory hook-up requirements. This may be as a result of the notice. Staff are recommending that a more detailed letter be sent to all residents within the sewer area so that their questions can be answered which should reduce the number of inquiries received at City Hall.

### Options

## Options

That Council:

1) Direct staff to draft a letter and forward to all residents in the sewer service area advising of mandatory hookup date for sewer is not later than December 31, 2019.

2) That a letter not be sent out at this time.
