Animal responsibility and control bylaws

Adopted

The new rules set animal-care requirements, regulate dangerous and aggressive dogs, require kennel licences and prohibit feeding dangerous wildlife, including deer. Dog licence fees range from $40 to $60, with separate fees for aggressive and dangerous dogs, replacing an outdated animal-control bylaw.

Where it stands: Both bylaws adopted Mar 16, 2026.
